PEER MASSAGE INSTRUCTION
PEER MASSAGE IN SCHOOLS INSTRUCTOR
Children as young as 4/5 years of age through to primary school are taught to give and receive a simple massage given fully clothed, just on head, back and arms. Session lasts approx. 10 mins and is built into school day.
Some of the Wonderful Benefits when practiced regularly each day are:
- Significant reduction in bullying.
- Children learn about respectful touch.
- Enhanced learning ability due to better concentration as a result of being calmer.
- Improved social skills and caring & thoughtful interaction with others.
- Children receive the usual physiological and emotional benefits of regular massage.
- Highly beneficial for children with Special Needs, e.g. autism.
And many more benefits.
I have had the wonderful opportunity to take this concept into numerous schools in the borough of Lambeth such as: Glenbrook School, Stockwell School, Julian's School, Ashmole School and Macaulay School.
Some of the associations I have worked with are: Healthy Minds, Health Education Link Services, Lambeth Emotional Health & Wellbeing MOT days in selected schools (2 years).
